The trends in computing and the field of information and communications technology are rapidly evolving. The age of information and knowledge engineering is adherent. The importance of IT is no longer in the management of the structure (infra- and human capital) but more so on the relevance and importance of the available information. We no longer manage computers, we manage information. Thus a need to realign the name of the college to reflect the importance of computers and information in the advent of knowledge engineering in today’s information age. |
MISION |
We commit to successfully achieve the following: 1. Provide quality IT education relevant and responsive to the changing needs of the industry and society;
2. Produce highly employable graduates and entrepreneurs who have passion, intellect, and ingenuity to serve the society; 3. Embed a culture of research by applying learned theories, creating innovation, enhancing product features, and venturing on its viability for commercialization; 4. Develop innovative programs focusing on ubiquitous computing environment as an alternative to costly and limited resources offered by traditional education; 5. Strengthen linkages with industry and other research and development institutions in order to upgrade and update the knowledge and skills of faculty and students; 6. Undertake outreach and extension programs while utilizing the expertise and competence of existing human resources for the improvement of the community; and 7. Inculcate among administrators, faculty members, staff, and students the highest degree of commitment and professionalism in any undertaking. |

Department of Information Technology
MISION
The mission of the Department of Information Technology is to produce IT professionals competent in the areas of systems analysis and design, applications development, database administration, network administration, and systems implementation and maintenance among others.
OBJECTIVES
General Objectives
1. To support the organizational strategic plan, vision and mission of the university through the effective application of information technology.
2. To ensure that our students receive the highest quality education possible, our curriculum incorporates various courses from information technology, software engineering and management, focusing on meeting the needs of IT users within an organizational and societal context through the selection, creation, application, integration and administration of computing technologies.
3. To interact with high tech community partners
4. To provide advice and support in the implementation of technical solutions throughout the organization
5. To deliver services to the university that meet established performance standards
Specific Objectives
1. To provide our graduates with a broad-based education that will form the basis for personal growth and life-long learning.
2. To provide our graduates with a quality technical education that will equip them for productive careers in the field of Information Technology.
3. To provide our students with the communication skills and social and ethical awareness requisite for the effective and responsible practice of their professions.
4. To maintain a diverse student population and actively promote an environment in which students from all groups, including the traditionally under-represented, may successfully pursue the study of Information Technology.
5. To maintain a qualified and dedicated faculty who actively pursue excellence in teaching.
